Don’t Forget Our GITweekly Tumblog.

Just a quick note to say don’t forget our GITweekly Tumblr Tumblog thingee.

By popping over to the Tumblog you may find some lighter or more opinionated ramblings. Like we’ve said before – it’s GITweeklyLite.

We’ve chatted about the Australian Election 2010, or more specifically about a Liberal minister bashing a Labor minister over ignorance (despite gaffing it up himself) and balancing that up nicely with the Conroy filter.

That’s what it’s about. Off the cuff. Inane. Interesting. Idiotic. Whatever.

Cheers

GIT’s in the dictionary you know.

According to Dictionary.com a GIT is a foolish or contemptible person.

To be honest with you, the foolish bit may well be true of us here at GITweekly. It’s also part of the reason we’re called GITweekly.

Dictionary.com

You see, it probably is a little bit foolish to believe that GITs like us could comment about tech, especially compared to the super brains out there. But here’s the thing.

We know what we like. And we know what works for us. For the average computer user that’s going to be more than enough.

So let’s get on with it with our first GITtip.

If you don’t have a dictionary handy – type in www.dictionary.com and you’re set. It even pronounces words for you if your struggling.

For those with a bit of smart phone styley going on, and we’re talking iPhone here, try the Dictionary.com iPhone app. It’s free. How cheap is that!

GITweekly starts up, slowly. G’day.

I know what you’re thinking. Another blog about tech stuff. Computers, phones, and the rest.

You may well be right but we’re aiming to have a point of difference.

What is that point of difference?

“We Do Simple”.

You see, the advantage we have over just about every other tech site is that we are just about computer illiterate. You heard me. Just about…err…illiterate!

But we do love exploring and trying new things out. And yes, we break things along the way.

So what’s the point of all this?

  • We hear about something new or invaluable.
  • We think it’s great.
  • We can understand it.
  • We pass it on to you.

So who’s going to get something out of this site?

  • Newbies or N00bs or whatever those condescending tech heads are calling us these days.
  • People looking to get into computers “on the cheap”.
  • Anyone who loves to dig up something new or old and great.

What we’re not going to do (hopefully).

  • Bag stuff. If it’s bad we probably won’t talk about it. What’s the point?
  • Bag people. As people without high end tech skills we won’t be throwing stones around in our glass houses.

But you must be clever, I hear you say, ‘cos you’ve got your own site!

Err…no. We’re using a great site building tool called WordPress. We’re also using some free sites to supplement the site like tumblr.com and twitter.com. All free. All easy to use.

Let us know how we’re going. Make comments. Contribute. Suggest. But most of all – enjoy.
